The ECIP website is now closed, but don't worry, you can find us on NHS Improvement's improvement hub.

The improvement hub lets you search hundreds of improvement resources - you can even share your own. You can also collaborate and explore your ideas with colleagues on the discussion board.

The final day to access is Friday 24th March 2017, after this date the site will be available through the national archive.

Safer Start was established in the first few weeks of January 2016 to tackle the bottlenecks that affect patient flow and disrupt performance. The campaign encouraged the use of ‘Breaking the Cycle’ events (such as a ‘perfect week’) and Multi-disciplinary Accelerated Discharge Events (MADE). The aim was to get patients who no longer required acute medical care out of hospital, with a particular focus on the easier to discharge ‘stranded patients’ (those who have been in hospital longer than 7 days).

The findings of the review into the impact of the Safer Start campaign can be found here.
